About

I’ve always had a fantasy that I would come home from work, kick off my shoes, make myself a drink and watch the evening news. I don’t do, well, any of those things except for coming home from work, but I figured I should do something involving those last two things.

There are a lot of cocktail blogs out there, and I don’t pretend to be the best one. But I can pretend to be the most temporally confusing — right now, I’m going through a guide to bartending created in 1862, but I’m trying to keep it fresh and relevant with terrible puns and connections to current news stories. We’ll see how that goes.

I want to make sure you feel connected to what’s going on around you, whether you’re sitting down for a craft cocktail, just getting smashed, or reading a recipe from two centuries ago. And what better lubricant is there than alcohol to get those connections flowing?

Anyway, read and enjoy, and you can contact me anytime at bn@boozynewsie.com. I look forward to hearing from you!

**A note about content: The Boozy Newsie may, from time to time, contain posts about sponsored products. All products given gratis are noted and used only if I like the product. I won’t promote anything that I don’t feel is up to the level of quality embodied by this blog and the cocktails created and tested on it.

If you are a distributor or PR company and are interested in sending products, please contact me at the email address above.

  1. Is there such a thing as a professional cocktail reviewer? If not, what a rad hobby. I suspect you must have quite the following.

Not only are there bars, lounges, breweries and such everywhere, people have bars in their homes. I wonder if companies still allow the office bar/cabinet?

It amazes me how interested I get in most anything interesting…but your blog is fascinating!!!
